Old Navy Weekly 7/23 tips

If you've become a fan of Old Navy Weekly, you should know that they are updating the site right now.  This means there could be new coupons live by late tonight or early tomorrow morning.  No one really know when the new coupons go live and Old Navy seems to enjoy surprising everyone.  The M80 Newsroom says, "It’s another fabulous week at OldNavyWeekly.com! and we’re hiding the $75 off $100 coupon again plus you can still share select coupons with a Facebook friend. Happy hunting!"  If you want a chance at the big coupons, you might want to stay up and wait for the update. Yes, that does mean sitting at your computer and refreshing the screen endlessly.  ;)

Friday's $5 off for EACH buddy in your group

Friday's started their BYOB = Bring Your Own Buddy promo!  For each "buddy" you bring, you get $5 off an entree.  So, if you're a group of 5 (you + 4 "buddies"), you get $20 off.  Buddy means any adult, really.  There's a limit of 10 people per coupon.  That means, you can save up to $45!  This does not apply to kids' meals, desserts and appetizers.  Valid until August 31 only.  Print your coupon off the Friday's website.

9th St Summerfest free concert

The 9th St Summerfest continues with a FREE concert on July 29, Wednesday, featuring The Wallflowers. They sang the hits "6th Avenue Heartache," "Three Marlenas," and probably best known, "One Headlight." They also performed popular covers, including those of the The Beatles' "I'm Looking through You" and Bee Gees' "I Started a Joke."  As an aside, the lead singer Luke Dylan is the son of the legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. This concert will be outdoors between Broadway and Walnut.  Gates open at 6 pm.

Avenue Q at Jesse Hall

This is not a sale or discount but I think it is a really good deal to have the chance to watch the Tony Award-winning Broadway Musical Avenue Q right here in town! As part of the University Concert Series, Avenue Q will be showing on December 1 at Jesse Hall.  Tickets are available online through the Concert Series website, by phone and at the box office. Last I checked, the only available tickets for two in the main section were in the last row.  So, if you're interested, you should probably get your tickets soon!

Passes for Time Traveler's Wife screening in Leawood KS

Free screening of The Time Traveler's Wife on August 10 (Monday), 7:30 pm, at AMC Town Center 20 in Leawood, KS. Passes are obtained through gofobo.com by entering an RSVP code and registering.  The code KCKC556Y3J from the radio station Star 102.1 still provided available passes as of a few minutes ago.

Worlds of Fun deals until 7/31

Since I posted the deal on Six Flags, I thought I should check if Worlds of Fun in Kansas City had any cool deals.  It turns out, there is a good deal straight from their website.  But it's only good from Sunday to Friday (NOT Saturday) until July 31.  They require a minimum purchase of 4 tickets to Worlds of Fun for $99.  (Regular admission is around $40 for adults and $19 for those 48" and under and seniors.)  For Oceans of Fun, the price is $79 for 4 tickets. (Regular admission is around $29 for adults and $16 for those 48" and under and seniors.)  Here's the link to the deals.

Back-to-School Tax Holiday

Just reminding everyone that the Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday weekend is coming up from August 7 to 9.  Unfortunately, as it has done in years past, Columbia is opting out of the sales tax holiday. (Click here to see the list of Missouri cities that are opting out.) Nevertheless, we will still get a reprieve from the state portion of the tax (4.225%)... not bad!
