Pampers potty training kit

Pampers.com is offering a free potty training kit as a promotion for their Easy Ups brand.  The kit includes "high-value coupons, fun stickers and coloring pages, step-by-step potty training tips, potty progress chart, and a Dora or Diego training trophy."  It takes several weeks for the kit to arrive.  Here's the link.

Prime card from Inside Columbia

Inside Columbia's Prime Magazine has an associated Prime Card, which offers holders various discounts and freebies from local establishments.  You submit your information through the website and wait 10-15 days to receive your card.  The list of current discounts includes free Kaldi's coffee, free Cold Stone ice cream and free Tiger Express car wash.

As far as I know, the magazine is free right now but is this just an introductory promotion?

Starbucks free pastry day

Starbucks is giving away a free pastry with the purchase of a beverage on July 21 from opening to 10:30 am.  Just print the invite from their website. The invitation says to bring it to a participating Starbucks so check your favorite branch first to see if they are participating. I just called the one at 9th and Elm and they said they are but the guy who answered the phone at the Broadway branch had no idea.

Orchard MOMS Club pre-sale tonight

My last post about Children's Orchard said that the brand name fall items were being released tomorrow, July 18.  Apparently, there's a pre-sale TONIGHT for MOMS Club members from 7 to 9 pm.  If you know a Club member, you might want to tag along for a better selection.  (The store says it will restock for tomorrow morning.)

Old Navy Weekly 7/16 tips

Old Navy Weekly has updated again.  The big coupons were $75 and $50 off $100 but like before, those went really quickly!  Here are the tips for uncovering the remaining coupons:

Name a modelquin and get 25% off -- Click on the box that says "Life as a supermodelquin kid..."  The answer to the question is NATALIE.  When you use this coupon, the cashier will ask you to name a modelquin.  Their names are Kelly, Heather & Josh, Eva & Enrique, Michelle & Wesley, and Amy.  You only need to name one.
$15 off $75 -- Click the link to the video in the bottom left corner of the page.  Keep your cursor arrow positioned over the video.  Once the arrow changes into a hand, click to uncover the coupon.  The time to click changes so you just have to watch for the hand.
20% off with 2 jeans -- Drag the blue pen in the left hand of the little girl in the hot pink shirt and drop it into the pocket of the messenger bag of the little girl in the light pink shirt below her.
15% off -- Drag the black-and-white scarf to the neck of the model in the inset above the scarves.
10% off with uniform purchase -- Drag the blue scarf to the neck of the model in the inset above the scarves.

Free (and $1) old movies

Although there are no free screenings of NEW films here in town, there are free (and $1) screenings of old movies!

The Museum of Art & Archaeology is sponsoring a film series which is free and open to the public.  All screenings are at Pickard Hall Rm 106 at 7pm.  Here are the remaining films for this season:
July 16 (tonight) -- The Women (1939) -- "This film adaptation of the Clare Booth Luce play, based on a conversation overheard in a ladies room, features an all-female cast.  High drama involving husband-snatching, gossip and revenge provides guilty pleasure for all viewers."  Starring Norma Shearer, Paulette Goddard, Joan Crawford and Rosalind Russell.  Directed by George Cukor.
August 7 (Friday) -- Camelot (1967) -- "The Lerner-Loewe score in this adaptation of the Broadway musical enhances the story of the romance between Sir Lancelot (Nero) and Guinevere (Redgrave), King Arthur's (Harris) Queen.  See the effect the 60s had on Camelot."  Starring Richard Harris, Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero.  Directed by Joshua Logan.
August 20 (Thursday) -- The Life and Times of Andy Warhol: Superstar (1990) -- "Comprised of interviews with people as diverse as Dennis Hopper, Grace Jones, Roy Lichtenstein, Lou Reed and Shelly Winters, this documentary captures the life and the mystery of the artist and the person--Andy Warhol.  Insightful and amusing." Starring Jean Michel Basquiat.  Directed by Chuck Workman.

Free (and discounted) restaurant food

The only place I know that gives out free food without joining an email list or club is Sparky's Homemade Ice Cream on 9th Street. When it's your birthday, you get free ice cream, and kids always get a 1/2 scoop free!

I guess I should say that many restaurants (mostly chains, like Applebee's) would also give you free dessert on your birthday without having to join anything.

Warning: The rest of the free food (and special discounts) on this post are earned through joining email lists or membership clubs through the restaurant websites.  If you're wary of using your main email address, you can opt to create a new email account specifically for promotions and memberships.  Also, although a lot of restaurants offer freebies, they are not all created equal, so pick well and eat free!
